Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe
Review by Laurie, 8/5/2016
We had a great trip and truly enjoyed the resort. It was perfect for families.
Our transfers service was nice. Love that it was private! I would recommend this resort for families.
We went to Xel Ha and had a great time. We would definitely refer others to this excursion. Thank you for organizing everything for us.
Review by Jim, 2/26/2016
Overall we thought the Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe was a pretty solid resort. The facilities and resort itself was very nice. Only downfall was for the first couple days our room was really far away from everything so it was a pretty long walk to the beach/pool area. However, they moved us up closer as rooms became available after a convention. We really liked the Japanese steak house and the complementary drinks were nice.
Excursions we did was four wheeling from the resort to a nearby under water cave which was a shorter fun excursion for only $60. The other was a snorkeling excursion where we went out on a boat and saw a different reef. The reef itself wasn’t anything that special – but getting able to ride on the boat was alot of fun.
Thanks again for all you help in setting it up – overall it was successful trip and my wife enjoyed herself.

We had a blast! Seriously one of the best vacations I’ll ever have. We used our resort credit for the Romantic dinner and it was seriously the best service I’ve ever had. We also parasailed and jet skied – both super fun. The actual hotel room was fantastic, service was fantastic. I think it was worth every penny. Nothing was disappointing. One thing I recommend is highlighting that for the resort credit, some of the activities are ONLY during the week.
El Dorado Casitas
Review by Kat & Kirk, 11/29/2015
Today is our last day and just wanted to send you a note! We have had a WONDERFUL time! When we arrived there were some complications with our 2nd floor pool not working and we saw that the 1st floor lazy river was not busy at all so this eliminated our concerns about privacy.. So we upgraded to the 1st floor swim up pool next to the lazy river! (I hope Love to travel can get credit for this somehow, it was easy to upgrade and our concierge did it quickly) We would totally recommend this! There is maybe 1 person that swims by in the lazy river once a day and we have our own layout right across from the bar! Clemente has been an amazing bar tender and brings us drinks to our pool without us asking!
We wanted to thank you for whatever package you signed us up for because when we arrived they said “congrats on celebrating your wedding”, I mentioned that we got married awhile ago but we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary on Dec 10th. So they told us that our package comes with the romantic dinner by the beach, a romantic breakfast in our room and they offered free massages. So AWESOME job! Apparently no proof is needed and upon arrival they just ask you what you are celebrating! Lol!
We did not take advantage of any excursions as it was really windy during our stay so sailing or snorkeling would not have been ideal! But we only felt a slight breeze from our suite and again can not recommend more the Casistas first floor private swim up pool (close to the ocean) for future couples coming in our same situation! Just perfect!
We have very much enjoyed our stay and wanted to thank you for all your planning!!

We had a BLAST! Thank you so much for our welcome package with beer and chips. You all made this so easy for us. We will definitely be using your services again. We just lounged around in our resort the whole week. We decided against excursions while we were there. The resort and people were SOO accommodating, polite and provided us with great services. Everything went very smoothly!

We had a great time! We loved the resort! It was very clean and nice! Lost of things going on, staff was friendly, swim-up pool and bar was fabulous in the Casitas. We went on 2 excursions. We went to the Chichen Iza- I thought it was really neat, but I probably wouldn’t go again. I think it’s one of those things that you must do one time in your life to see it, but I wouldn’t go again just because I’m not big on that kind of stuff, but it was very neat to see! It was an all day long trip on a bus. They took us to a sink hole and that was really cool to see as well! The other excursion we did was snorkeling with jet skis. I am glad we paid extra to do the jet skis because we got to ride around in the ocean on our own for about 45 minutes then snorkeled quite a bit on top of that!
Transfers were very smooth. The Lomas staff was very nice and always on time.
Your service was great! It was exactly how you said it would be and it was nice to be prepared for what to expect. I have attached a few pictures…we took quite a few! The weather was hot and sunny every day except the first day! It was great!! Thank you!!!
Review by Brandon, 11/25/2014
We had a very excellent time, as we expected we would. The crowd was more eclectic than the last time we went. That was likely a timing issue, though, 2 years ago, it was nearly November and almost everyone in our group were Canadians, northerners or Europeans about our age. This time, there was a large mix of ages and demographics. It didn’t matter to us though, a little less conversation with others, we spent most of the time relaxing and just focusing on each other which was the intent anyway
We love the Casitas, and the weather was awesome. Just the perfect amount of sun, it wasn’t too hot or too chilly. The water was a bit cool in the mornings, but warmed up after the first bloody mary. We were in the 31st block, and those rooms were better yet than the 30 section we had been in before. There really isn’t one single complaint about it. Even with the restaurant there, we didn’t notice it, and began to enjoy having lunch so close nearby. Hal and I did walk through the Generations resort next door, and were very impressed with those. It seemed very dead though, and even the staff said it had been slow since opening. If we ever chose to take our kiddos along, it would sure be something we would consider. It did seem like they didn’t push the loyalty program as much, we only had a couple written notes about it.
The bar offerings seemed to be very generous, and had a great selection. I drink vodka, so was impressed that they offered Grey Goose. We were probably disappointed with the Kampai Asian restaurant; it seemed their sushi offerings were down and the atmosphere was below par. Also, the restaurants on the hotel side didn’t seem to hold to the dress standard as those in the Casita section.
We did go on one excursion, and we would strongly recommend it to others who like to snorkel. The Mayan Adventure Snorkeling tour was a great value. A lot shoved into a half day, for a reasonable price. Snorkeling in a cenote was very awesome, and the inlet snorkeling was unreal. The tour was with a maximum of 12 people, so it’s not just being handed some fins and a mask. Very cool.
The private transfer was the way to go. Having gone several times now, it’s much better to bypass all that hassle and just hit the road. Money well spent. Also, we have referred you to a couple of friends who are working on vacations in the near future. They are considering Dorado Casitas, among others. So hopefully they will be in touch.
Many, many thanks for a great vacation!

Good Morning All,
We had an amazing restful week. The resort was awesome, staff, food, flight and all of the experience was a memorable 30th that we will not forget.
We took horseback ride through the Man Groves, and the Coba Adventure which was so awesome. The zip line was my first experience of high flying. Wow was that awesome!
I posted our pictures on my Facebook as we did take a bunch.
Thanks again for all your help in planning and facilitating our Anniversary.
Highly recommend to anyone who wants to get away from all the hoopla!

We LOVED the resort. We would like to go back in the future. We ended up going to Tulum and Xel-ha. It was a long day but a good experience. I’m glad that we went. Everything was very smooth and we got all our extra’s for the “Honeymoon Package.” When we go again we will probably go around our anniversary so we can receive those again :). Everything was excellent, Thank you so much!

You guys did a great job making everything smooth for us along the way and I don’t think there were any complications along the way.
We did go horse back riding and jet skiing/snorkeling at Maroma. We were happy with both excursions and would recommend both.
Thank you again for all your help and time, we plan on using your services again in the future!

Just wanted to THANK everyone at your company for their help with our trip to Mexico.
We couldn’t have asked for a nicer group to book our trip for us than what you have at Love to Travel.
The travel arrangements you made for us went off without a hitch.
The resort is fabulous & our vacation was very relaxing – Which is what we both needed.
Thank you again for all of your help & efforts. It’s MUCH appreciated.

Thank you so much for all the help you provided on getting us to the resort! We definitely could have stayed at that resort a lot longer! We decided next vacation we are going for closer to 2 week 🙂
We loved the resort. The food was wonderful and the staff really catered to us. The beach wasn’t the best but that didn’t seem to matter too much because the pools and resort were so pretty and nice. We didn’t end up doing an excursions while we were there just lots of relaxing. Maybe if we go for longer next time we’ll check some out.
The flights down obviously were crazy and we got delayed in Miami again on the way home. With the delayed flights on the way down it seemed to make for some confusion with the Lomas people when we landed but they got us taken care of pretty quick. We also had some confusion at the resort. We went to the concierge booth by our room to book our anniversary stuff on Tuesday but the lady there told us we didn’t have an anniversary package. It didn’t really matter to us but the front desk called on Friday morning to remind us to get our anniversary stuff booked we politely explained that we tried on Tuesday. They were super nice and ended up giving us a free couples massage on the beach for the confusion and we still got to book our dinner on the beach so it wasn’t really that big of a deal. I think the flight being delayed just made for some confusion, nothing you could have done at all.
Kyle and I both loved our vacation and can’t wait to book another trip with you in the future! Your service was excellent and we both really feel like you are an exceptional company. Very helpful and fast to respond which was very appreciated when our flights got delayed.
Thanks so so much, here are some of our favorite pics from the trip!

Review by Scott, 8/6/2015
The honeymoon went great! We both thoroughly enjoyed El Dorado and mentioned we would love to go back sometime and bring friends with us. I think we both liked the food most as we took advantage of the all you can eat as much as possible.
The excursions that we went on were horseback riding (on resort property but not owned by the resort) and deep sea fishing. We did not see any monkeys but they do have them around and can be seen about once a week according to the guides. The riding was mainly sitting and following on the horse which can be expected in that type of area. The deep sea fishing was awesome except Emily got sick on the boat. We caught quite a few fish and they even cut up and cooked the fish for us.
The room was awesome! We were upgraded to the swim-up and were in a room that actually faced the beach. The only thing between us and the ocean was our own swim up pool, a small walkway, a bar and that is it! It was at the far south end of the resort so the majority of traffic was not around our room. We have pictures but I will have to get them from Emily to be able to send them along.
Thank you so much for your help in our honeymoon!
Review by Allison, 6/8/2015
I apologize for my late response, we have been pretty busy with friends’ weddings and traveling ever since we got back from Mexico. But we absolutely loved El Dorado Royale!! We can’t thank you enough for the room upgrade to the oceanfront view, it was absolutely beautiful!
We very much enjoyed the food at the resort. We didn’t have a chance to try every place, but we loved La Cocotal for breakfast, JoJo’s or The Spot for lunch, and then Sante Fe was our favorite dinner location. We also very much enjoyed our candlelight dinner by the beach, and our couple’s massage in the skyway. We liked how great the service was at the resort. Everyone was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The night shows and music were wonderful too.
The only aspect of the resort that we didn’t like was the traffic on the walkways around the resort. We understand it is a very big resort and it is nice to have shuttle service, but we would have to be extra careful for the golf carts speeding around the resort. Very minor detail, but this is the only thing we noticed. Everything else about the resort was great!
We did go on one excursion while there. We went on the Tulum Xtreme tour by Adventuras Mayas. It was only a “half day” trip which was great, so we were only gone from about 8 to 4 pm. But on this tour we went to Tulum for a couple hours, where our tour guide shared some of the history behind the Mayan ruins for the first hour then we were able to go off on our own for the last hour there. Then we went to Adventuras Mayas and did some ziplining, rappelling, snorkeling in an underground cave, and had an authentic Mexican lunch. We had so much fun! We are very happy we did this tour and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in trying out ziplining or rappelling.
The Love to Travel team has been so helpful. We are extremely happy we went through you all to book our dream honeymoon. Thank you for all of your advice and assistance! Our honeymoon was very relaxing and we can’t thank you enough for helping us make it happen. We will definitely be contacting you when we are ready for our next getaway!
Review by Tonya, 12/29/2014
The trip was great! I was so glad I went with my own room as the rooms we had offer little bathroom privacy with frosted glass shower & toilet doors and no doors to the bathroom itself. Also, the glass partition between the bedroom in bath would have allowed no privacy. FYI for other ‘singles’ traveling here. I think the extra cost of my own room was only $144 over 5 days. Am I wrong? Totally worth it!!!
Also, we did our own excursion, rented cars and drove to a local cave snorkelling place south of Playa de Carmen. It was AWESOME! Pseudo dangerous, not for the faint of heart! It was called Hidden Underworld I believe. Recommend traveling with your own snorkeling gear.
I did some workouts while at the resorts. They have free classes every day, but also spin, zumba, and cross fit classes for $15 each. I didn’t want to do the extra, so I went to the free class. I was the only one to show up that day! So, instead of class for one, they took me to the gym and I worked with the trainer who gave me my own set of circuit routines. It was a great workout! I also loved the daily pool aerobics, which was actually the only times I got in the pool. Kayaking was great, a challenge on tough waters! The spa was very courteous and attentive to my relaxation. I was going to do the massage by the beach but then decided to move it inside because of music playing at the pool that day. No so relaxing! Massage was good but you must be very specific about your areas of focus. Tip was included in the cost and I used my room credit toward the massage.
LOVED the Mexican & Asian restaurants on site. Great resort! I would recommend to others

It was great! Really, there’s not much that comes to mind that can be improved upon. As for excursions, I went Scuba diving, which was nice, and on the Dolphin experience, which was really cool, and I recommend; I’d never done anything like that before.
Thanks so much for your help, and have a great holiday.

Hey Betsy and Kim,
We had a fantastic time at the resort. It was like being in paradise. The food was mostly good. Service was exceptional! Very clean and very luxurious! We loved our little surprises of champagne and rose petals on the bed. We would recommend this resort. It was so appreciated to have the shuttle take us back and forth to the resort. Everything was perfect!!! We didn’t like the extra tipping. When we go to an all inclusive we feel we have already paid quite a bit to have everything included. Although tipping wasn’t expected, everyone did it, so you felt the pressure. We went on the Tulum and the Shell Xa excursion. Tulum was perfect with 2 hours at the ruins. Shell Xa was a bit of a disappointment. When it was sold to us, we didn’t realize that all the things that were available at Shell Xa were extra. We thought they were included such as the stingrays, manatees, etc. That was a huge disappointment. There weren’t a ton of fish to see snorkeling if you didn’t pay for the extras. We love snorkeling so it was disappointing. We also went into Playa one night with the free shuttle from the hotel. It was nice to see the city. Overall, an awesome trip, very relaxing. We loved the beach beds! The weather was perfect!!!
Thanks for your help and recommendation. Looking forward to our next trip to the beach!

Hi Kim! Our trip was pretty amazing overall. The airport shuttle was great, the people were friendly and the location was beautiful! The food was delicious everywhere we ate, and the Italian restaurant was amazing! Everyone was so kind to make food without egg yolks for my allergy so it was an added bonus that they cared about little things like that. Miss Maggie was our beach butler and she was fantastic! Her manners, politeness, cheerfulness and everything were spot on. She enjoyed working on our Spanish with us everyday and brought Popsicles or ice cream every afternoon. This may be the “norm” but she made us feel special everyday. The staff everywhere was very friendly. We did the para sailing which was amazing! Josh had never done this before (due to fears of heights and water) and is excited to do it again! The crew was friendly, they gave great instructions, and Josh was happy to dip his feet in the water on the way down. We also took the hotel shuttle to Playa one evening. We were there from 6 pm to 10 pm. Miss Maggie had recommended Carboncitas for dinner and she was right, it was amazing. It was 1/2 block off of the main strip and the service was as outstanding as the food. We did encounter a few things that were a bit sad for us. After we upgraded we figured it would take a day or so to get the flowers in our room, the aroma therapy and the champagne. It stated on our package that those were a part of it so we were excited about them. We contacted the concierge and let them know we hadn’t received these on day three I believe and at first they said since we upgraded we didn’t get them. Upon further research they discovered we should have the honeymoon package no matter what. At the end of the day I believe we reminded them three times and still didn’t receive our champagne. We ordered a bottle of champagne through room service and the concierge said it was comped due to the fact that they hadn’t delivered one for us. It wasn’t comped when we checked out, but when we talked to them they ended up removing it. On one of the days we ordered breakfast through room service and it took an hour to get the courtesy call to see how it was, and we hadn’t received it yet. We did get our breakfast eventually, but we did have to remind them about our honeymoon breakfast in bed along with all of the other items they missed. Overall we loved the trip. We did feel like the resort should have cared a bit more about the little things they missed, but all in all we overcame and had a great time! Thank you for helping us book our honeymoon!

Hi Kim, We had a wonderful time! Absolutely loved the resort— great food, very clean, helpful staff, fun activities on property…everything was great!!! Thanks for all your help with the trip. You definitely made it easy and helped us along the way. We are interested in making a regular trip with our group, may go back here or look at other places. I’m sure in a couple years we’ll be contacting you. As far as any recommendations I really don’t have any. There’s a few I gave to the resort on their checkout survey (hours of serving food, more beach chairs needed, etc) but for your part all was good. Again, THANK YOU! The trip was a blast and we really appreciate all you did. Loved the candlelight dinner and couple massages.

Hi Kim, We had a great time on vacation. It was beautiful and the resort did not disappoint. One thing I’d consider for next time is not doing the transfers and instead opting to find a taxi. It would have been cheaper and we wouldn’t have had to wait for a bus to take us and it would have been a straight shot, not waiting for people to be dropped off at other resorts. The resort staff were very nice, spoke English well and did not expect tips. We did run into someone at the airport who wheeled our bags in and then stood there begging for a tip, which was incredibly awkward but we didn’t experience that with anyone that we ran into anywhere else. Thanks again for your help. We will definitely be returning at some point, or maybe sooner than we think to the Generations resort.

Thank you so much! We had an AMAZING time! We didn’t want to come home! The resort was the best! Everyone is extremely nice, helpful and warm. I couldn’t get over how clean and well kept everything was, they definitely pay attention to every detail and it shows! The excursions were great! Swimming with the Dolphins was one of the best experiences of my entire life. The only thing we weren’t crazy about with the excursions was there was a lot of wasted time. We were told to be somewhere at a certain time for transportation and we’d spend 30-45 minutes just waiting. Especially after the snorkeling, we had to wait almost 2 hours to get back to the resort and we weren’t prepared for that. But honestly, we were on a beautiful beach so it didn’t really bother us! Haha
The massage was obviously great as well! We weren’t able to do the candlelit dinner bc I have celiac and they didn’t have many gluten free options for that dinner. Unless we paid to upgrade which we didn’t want to do. Other than that everything was great!! We were on the 3rd floor which was totally fine! We had an amazing view! It was such an amazing honeymoon, I can’t thank you enough for helping us out! Thank you again so much!! I will email you some pictures! 🙂

Our trip went very well. The resort was excellent. Staff, food, everything was great. We didn’t mind at all how the sprawled out the resort was, it was nice to walk around and see everything. We were on the 4th floor, where the bar was, so that a nice bonus each night being so close.
We did get the massages and private beach dinner as well, which were fantastic. I didn’t go golfing, just didn’t realize how much time it’d eat up out of the day, by traveling there and back, so decided against it. I would definitely recommend this resort to others.
I think the best part of it was the number of couples we met, and hung out with every day, at the pool bar, playing volleyball in the pool, each night at the bar, etc. We had a nice group of about 8-10 couples or so that we partied with during the week, from Detroit, North Carolina, Kentucky, Canada, Oklahoma, Chicago, Scotland and even Sedalia, MO. Was a real good time.
I’ve attached a pic of our beach dinner…
Thanks for everything….

We had a room on the top floor – view was great!
Joe did not play golf – we just ate and drank and relaxed.
We did one excursion on a catamaran which had 2 snorkeling activities and a ride on a spinnaker – very fun!
We also had an amazing spa day – facial, body scrub, and couples massage!
Thanks for everything!

Thanks for the congratulations! It was a great time for our honeymoon! We did love the resort. We loved the romantic feel to it and having a jet tub in our room was a plus! We were kinda bummed that it rained several days while we were there, but we tried to make the best of it! I believe we did get all of the upgrades we had talked about. Honestly, I couldn’t remember when I got there what all we were supposed to receive. Ha. We got the room up grade, the dinner on the beach, the sky massages and the breakfast in our room. I think that was all of them, right? The excursion was lots of fun! We had a little bit of a snag with me only bringing a discover card and not a whole lot of cash. But Betsy helped me book the excursion in the states while we were down there. I am a little afraid to see my cell bill for the charges I received to email her in the states while I was in Mexico, but we will see. Ha. I was so thankful she responded so promptly and got it worked out for us! It was a lot of fun when we actually did it! The zip-lining and the cenote was my favorite! Thanks again for all the help! It was an expensive vacation, but totally worth it. It was a once in lifetime experience! Our next vacation may be a little bit cheaper! 🙂
THANK YOU so much for all the help when we were in Mexico! We couldn’t have done the excursions without you! I truly have only good things to say about your travel agency and have truly appreciated all the help your staff has done to make sure our honeymoon was perfect! You guys are the BEST!

Hi!! Love to Travel is the best travel agency that I have ever dealt with!! I will defiantly refer you to people!! Dustin and I had a great time at the resort. We were going to do the candle light dinner but we met some people there and had dinner with them and forgot about the candle light dinner!! I bet it would of been great but maybe next time we can do that!! We didn’t do any excursions but did take a taxi and went into Playa and went to a few bars there, that was fun!! The only bad thing that happened is that they lost our luggage at the Cancun airport when we arrived there from Dallas. We did receive it later that night at the resort, so from then on the honeymoon went great!! Thank you for telling us about the El Doarado Seaside Suites, the staff and people even visiting the place were all great!!

We had a wonderful trip! The resort was great and the food was phenomenal.
We went to Coba and swam in a cave as part o fthat excursion. Coba was neat, but i think they rushed us thru
As it seemed like there was more to see. Xel ha was beautiful.
We had a bit of a scare at the airport in Cancun because the woman at the counter couldnt find my name in the system, even tho she found Anne’s. She insisted on seeing my boarding pass from MCI to Csncun, which didn’t make a lot of sense. Luckily, i was able to find it, after digging around. I normally dont keep those. She said there was extra room on the plane and got me a seat.
We would highly recommend the resort. Im not sure much could be done about the airport issue.

We had a wonderful time!! We had a cruddy cold for most of the trip and didn’t do the evening entertainment as we wanted to sleep so we could be rested for the next day. The staff and service was awesome! The honeymoon package was wonderful and they made us feel very special. We lounged a lot during the day on the beach beds (pool ones were always full) and tried all the restaurants except the Pub as we didn’t have time since we wanted the Italian restaurant again. We also listened to the timeshare talk, we were really tempted but didn’t want to spend that kind of money right now. The massages were great and so was the candlelight dinner!! I just can’t say enough about everything we experienced. For the excursions, we did the ATV/Wave Runner combo and the Royal Swim with the Dolphins. All of them were great and my favorite was the dolphins:) The upgraded room was awesome and close to everything! It was nice to see the ocean from our patio. I can’t say enough about this trip, it was so much fun and very relaxing. Everything went well and we can not wait to go back (hopefully without colds). You did a wonderful job and picked an awesome resort for us that fit our wants/needs! We will be contacting you in the future for other trips, as the process was easy and smooth going through Love to Travel. Nothing needs to change and I can’t think of doing anything different as it was perfect for us. I did leave a review on Wedding Wire for Love to Travel:) Thank you so much for everything!!!!!

I have been meaning to call you myself to tell you how much we all enjoyed the trip! We all agreed that the Excellence is one of the best places we have been. The beach was wonderful with plenty of seating, good service, a wonderful lunch hut that had really good food, and the ability to walk for long distances for those who wanted to.
The restaurants that we went to were all very good, too. We attempted three times to make reservations at the one Japanese restaurant, but were unable to get spaces for all 8 of us–they required that all 8 people be present to reserve the spots. The concierge opened up the reservations at 9:00 am the day of the seating, and there were always people waiting in line long before that. It was kind of ridiculous really, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone waste any time waiting in that line because there really weren’t many spots to be had.
Our excursion was well run, and it was a beautiful day! However, the water was very rough that day, so it was more difficult to snorkel. In the future, I would ask ahead of time what the water conditions were before I got all the way out there to find rough water. Isla Mujares was fun! We rented golf carts and drove around the island for a while.
The resort itself was very beautiful, and the size and layout were perfect. Not too big, not too small. Our rooms were very nice! If I had any criticism at all, it would be the beds (some others in our group mentioned it too)–they were pretty hard, but that’s not the end of the world.
The general consensus of the group was that we would definitely go back there! Thank you so much for all that you and your team did to set us up with yet another awesome vacation! 🙂 You’re the best!
Hope to see you soon,

We love the resort! As you know it was our second time and Nic and Kara’s third. It is beautiful and the service is great. The people treat us so well and seem like family. The sports bar and coffee shop are great additions also! We really want to go to isla mujeres but just haven’t taken the time yet. Transfers were great and highly recommended. Everything went well. The weather was a little rainy the first few days and we had to switch rooms because of water leaking in the ceiling but they handled it well. I have included some of our pictures on other emails.
We appreciate all you do for us and we highly recommend you to all we talk to about our trip!

We had such an amazing time on our trip! We will seriously never go anywhere else….Excellence Playa Mujeres was pure heaven. The service was top notch, the food was really really good (we loved Spice hibachi and the French restaurant the best) and the beaches were amazing. We were so glad we booked the VIP suite because the covered beach beds were perfection! Next time we go, we will definitely go in the winter or spring because it was brutally hot all day long, even when the sun went down. The nightly entertainment was ok, the Michael Jackson show was really fun and we enjoyed the Mexican culture show. We had an absolute blast at the Casino nights- it was probably our favorite entertainment while we were there! We were really impressed with the amount of daily activities that they offered at the hotel. Next time, we are going to have to do the bike tours…they looked like fun!
We did go on 1 excursion. We went on a tour in our own personal speed boat through the lagoon and went snorkeling. We tried to book the trip to Isla Mujeres but they aren’t offered everyday and the only available day we could go, they were booked. We would definitely recommend the excursion; it was really fun and we picked a good day to go to Cancun to do that because it rained at the hotel for a better part of the morning…
Your service was spectacular and I have been recommending you to anyone who asks about our trip…I will be a repeat customer for sure! We want to book another trip here in a few years, so we will be back!
Thanks so much for your wonderful service…we didn’t have a single worry from the time we left Kansas City, to the time we left Excellence Playa Mujeres.

Basically everything was wonderful! The resort was stunning and I can’t say enough good things about it. We loved the two story suite, especially bc it rained all day one day so we had our own little oasis to escape to. The views were beautiful and overall everything about the resort was wonderful.
We went on two excursions. One through the hotel and one not. We would highly recommend both they were just different. The one we enjoyed the most was the one through the hotel to Isla Mujeres. The Isla Mujeres excursion was booked directly through the resort. Very convenient, we walked about a block to the cove and then took the catamaran to the snorkel sight and island (about 45 minute boat ride). Then you had about 3 hours by yourself on the island. It was $75-80 a person I can’t remember the exact price. With everything you got we thought that was a really good price! We paid almost that much just for our other snorkeling excursion. It was so wonderful. This was one of our favorite parts of the trip, you got to experience more of Mexico (in a safe way!) the island beaches were spectacular and the vendors and shops were a great time! The other excursion we went on was just snorkeling out at the reef. It was also nice just not as luxurious feeling as you had to take a van about an hour to the site. It was still an unbelievable experience but I would highly recommend the Isla Mujeres excursion. Please let me know how else I can help!! I would recommend this trip and resort to anyone!! It was a huge resort with a very small intimate feel. Overall exactly what we wanted!! Thanks so much again for everything!
I would highly recommend your agency and the excellence resorts!!

We had an amazing time. Your team was so great to work with. My wife and I both loved how you really handled planning everything and we could sit back and enjoy everything. That definitely made the planning phase and the actual vacation much more enjoyable.
We didn’t do any excursions. Both my wife and I were more into relaxing this trip, so it was a lot of pool and beach time.
We are definitely going to be in touch next time we plan another Caribbean trip.
Thanks again for your help!

Hi Kim! We had a wonderful trip! It was a beautiful resort and we would definitely go back. Everything went pretty smoothly…we did have an issue with the wrong company having our transfer from the airport to the resort so that was a bit hairy. Luckily, the Hasslers (who we traveled with) had the correct information so we were able to work it out. Also the resort wasn’t aware of our anniversary so we didn’t get any of the fun perks upon arrival. They did accommodate us the next day. Thanks for the recommendation. We had a great time!

Hi Kim, We had a wonderful vacation/honeymoon!!! The resort was way nicer that I ever expected! Everything went fairly smoothly. The only thing I would mention is to make sure you have people schedule their ride back to the hotel with Lomas as soon as you arrive at the resort. We didn’t until the day before we had to leave and the ride back ended up working out okay. But the lady at Lomas said we were supposed to do it right away, and I was just a little more hassle. We did one excursion. We signed up with aqua sports to visit the isle mujeres and go snorkeling. The island was fun, I would recommend bringing a lot of extra cash to he island. we ended up spending what we brought. Overall very nice and relaxing trip and the food was AWESOME!!! Thanks

Our view was amazing! We were beyond pleased with the resort. Our only disappointment was when we went on an excursion to coba because the guy we booked it with recommended it because we didn’t want to be gone all day. We didn’t get back until 10 at night and it was 3 hours away when he told us it would be an hour and we would be back by 7 and it was a little unorganized. But the shopping day was a blast. We have recommend this resort to everyone and to some of our other friends getting married to book with you. Thank you for everything hopefully we can book another trip soon.

We did have a great trip. Thank you for checking in. We got into building 9!
The weather was great. A few cloudy days, and only a little rain during the day. We only did the reef excursion and it was fun. We had hoped to see more fish but that wasn’t a problem. We were expecting more fish because we’ve been snorkeling in Hawaii and Jamaica, but it seems like this area was just a different environment. This wasn’t a problem, just a surprise. It did actually rain the day we were on the catamaran. The captain avoided the rainstorm and we saw a twister nearly touch down at the water. I took a photo from a water proof camera and I’m curious to see if it turned out cool. We have to get that film developed.
The airport transfer was very easy. We got your bag of snacks and two coronas on the ride to the resort! It was a nice touch and it set a great tone to start our trip!
Overall the trip was amazing. We had such a fun time relaxing and hanging out with each other. Thank you for helping us out, setting it up, and answering so many questions!

Hey there Dave,
We had an incredible time on our trip! It was such a blast and we were sad to have to return 🙂
I think we enjoyed the service of the staff members on the resort the most. They were always very welcoming and friendly. They all had smiles on their faces no matter what they were doing and it truly made for an incredible atmosphere! Not to mention the entire facility was absolutely beautiful and clean! The only thing that was a little disappointing was that there was an abundance of seaweed alongside the beach, but the resort’s pools and amenities were so beautiful that we kind of forgot about it all.
We went on a Jungle Tour excursion through AquaWorld which was incredible! We got to drive motorized speed boats through the water and when we arrived at our destination we got to jump in the water and snorkel. It was so beautiful! We also rode jet skis which we loved and also were able to ride horses through the jungle. We were bummed at first that we were unable to ride on the beach, but had the most amazing time riding through the jungle. The staff was so sweet. It was called the Bonanza Ranch and would definitely recommend them again!
We felt like our airport transfers went very smoothly and that it was very nice having everything just set up ahead of time.
It was very great working through you guys to help us make our honeymoon absolutely incredible! We truly appreciate everything you guys did 🙂 thank you!

Hi Kim, Like last time we had such a relaxing and enjoyable stay! We did not do any excursions this time, but enjoyed our entire stay at the resort (wish we would have done a few more nights as it seemed to go by way faster this time around!). We did the non-motorized water option this time – paddleboated on my birthday and it was so cool! They also were really sweet and had some “towel art” – of a birthday candle – with balloons and dessert for my birthday in the room after we got back from another day around the pools/beach. Dinner was great too as they put together a fun array of sushi for us at Spice. We want to go back now!!! We’re hoping to go back again maybe in 5 years, though I would be interested one day to try their Punta Cana resort as well (or whenever the newest one opens up!). So, overall we were SO PLEASED with everything. The only recommendation I’d have (and I’m not sure if this just wasn’t possible due to the day of the week we travelled and what flights were available) but we only had an 1 hour 35 min layover in Dallas, to go through customs and back through security. The customs was pretty easy, super-fast (since they have those automated machines now to scan your own passport/take a pic), BUT security was horrible. It took about 30 minutes to get back through security and we ran to the gate, but to find out our flight was delayed due to them fixing the first officer’s chair in the cockpit. If we had the TSA Pre-check like my mother in law and her husband, we would have been better off (they made it there and were just about to text us that the flight was delayed when they saw us sprinting). All in all though, once again a great stay and we highly recommend you all to book, and the Excellence resort! Thank you very much!

I’m sorry we haven’t gotten back to you sooner. Several times during our trip we talked about how we wanted to email you to let you know what a great vacation we were having.
The resort was very nice. It was for us just the right size. The activities they offered were great. The entertainment was very good. The children’s area was just amazing. The staff was attentive and very friendly. The restaurants were great.
The most remarkable thing might be that everyone in our family (including our nanny) all agreed that this was one of the best vacations ever. Our kids are 4, 6, and 16. Our nanny is 28. We are a little older than that 😲. This mutual agreement across the decades of travelers in our family is really rare.
We really only left the resort for one excursion. We even kind of wished after that we had just stayed at the resort that day. There is really not anything else that we would have changed.
Thanks so much for planning our trip!

We had a great time! The resorts was perfect for us. We were totally relaxed & comfortable there. Jim & I really loved the 2 story room, especially the dipping pool. Our boys didn’t really utilize that feature. I really loved building 5; it had an awesome view & it was so close to everything. The transportation to & from the airport was great. We did not take any excursions because very were very content with the resort & we had a limited amount of time. We had a couple spa days though. Jim & I also enjoyed the bike tour because it was a great way to see the resort & surrounding areas. Another fun feature about this place was the nightly entertainment. Thank you very much for directing us to this resort.

Hi Dave! So sorry for my slow reply! Thanks so much for following up with them, I appreciate it.
The rest of our trip was great! We had a great time. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The rooms and amenities were very clean and beach towels always were available. They had a variety of activities so there was enough for my 11 year old to do (my 14 year old was happy just hanging out at the beach or pool). We took advantage of the spa, parasailing and jet skis. All of those were great. We didn’t go on any excursions or leave the property because there was enough to do on the resort to keep the kids happy. Lomas Travel was fantastic. I felt very safe with their drivers and they were so helpful both when we arrived and when we left. Specifically when we left the driver helped us get checked in with our passports and luggage which was much appreciated.
Just a couple pieces of feedback that may be helpful in the future…the water in the pool by our swim-up suite was quite chilly so we didn’t swim in it. In fact, no one in any of the suites that were attached to the pool swam in the water. Occasionally some brave little kids jumped in but they didn’t last long. I’m not sure if that’s normal for March, but the only pool that was regularly occupied was the main pool with the 2 swim up bars where the water was noticeably warmer (maybe it’s heated?). As a result, that made the main pool pretty crowded since no one was in the other pools. Not a big deal, but something to keep in mind. Also, the beach was lined with seaweed so that seemed to limit people swimming in the ocean because it was continually rolling in and got on you if you did get in.
We had great experiences with all of the restaurants and room service except for one. The seafood restaurant didn’t have good service and the food wasn’t good. Not a big deal because we just went to another restaurant but I just want to share everything with you because it might be helpful info. They had a couple of special events when we were there – an Indian night and a pirate night – both had great food selections and good entertainment.
All in all we were very happy and would stay there again! I will send pics from my phone to you – it was just too much to type to send this email on my iphone. J
Thanks again for your help. We definitely will use your services in the future!!
Have a great afternoon!

Thank you so much for checking in. We just got back on Saturday and the trip was fantastic! The Finest Resort was beautiful. The rooms, service and food were all great and Lomas Travel really made the airport pick-up and drop off easy to manage.
We enjoyed the the Bonanza Ranch horseback riding and it was very interesting how they use rescue animals as their trail horses and the pride of the Owner was seen during his personal tour of the ranch. It was perfect for beginner riders like us but more experienced riders might have been a little unchallenged.
The only low light of our trip was the Snorkeling Excursion. We were asked to be at Scuba Cancun at 1:50 pm and did not leave the dock until 3:15pm. There will only 5 people including the 4 of us snorkeling and the other 20 were scuba divers undergoing certification. The boat was large and could not get close to the reef so we were instructed to jump off the boat and swim a long distance to the reef in large waves and rough water. It was incredibly dangerous. We were so terrified that we ended up turning around and returning to the boat but then had to wait an hour and a half for all of the divers to board. The water was incredible rough and many people ended up getting seasick. We spoke to the Lomas rep the next day and he said that all small marine craft had been instructed to stay off the water that day and that is why we ended up on the scuba boat. Maybe snorkeling in December should not be recommended due to the wind and high waves?
We tried a different restaurant each evening and enjoyed all of them. There was on average a 25 minute wait for a table of 4 at 8pm. but we built that into our expectations each evening and enjoyed the outdoor or lobby bar. Only one issue came up with the Teppanyaki Tables in the Asian restaurant. Reservations were required and taken at 4:30pm each day. My husband lined up at 4;15pm and was fifth in line. The person who was first in line took all tables for 6-8pm ( over 24 spots). Not sure if he was selling the spots but we suggested to the concierge that there should be a limit per person as to how many spots you should be able to reserve. We ended up eating at 9:30 and the food was delicious.
The Finest Club was excellent. The reserved spots and service at the beach were incredible. We enjoyed the Oceanfront rooms but the entire resort is set back from the Ocean so people may need to be forewarned of the distance. I also may let people know of the remoteness of the resort. It was perfect for what we needed but getting into Cancun took 30 minutes and there is nothing else close to the resort.
Thank you and your staff for your help in the selection of the resort, transportation and excursions. It was a wonderful trip that our family will remember for a lifetime.
Happy New Year!

We had such a fantastic time! It was a great resort and the kid’s club really provided us (and our kids) with the flexibility we needed. The food was great, service was unparalleled. The only downside was the mosquitos..lots of them..but apparently that is pretty typical for the area (which I’d forgotten). We didn’t go on any excursions since our kids are too young but there was plenty to do (or not do!) at the resort to keep us occupied…we kayaked and paddle boarded. Already thinking about when we can return!
Thanks again for all your help in making this happen for us!

Hi Kim, the trip was awesome, perfect weather, the beach and hotel still amazing. Can’t say enough about Grand Bahia, nice people, worry free, kids had a blast. Looked into some excursions, a little pricy though. Would do it again but also looking into checking out the cabo side of Mexico. Any info would be great. Thanx for setting everthing up it was perfect.

Our family had a great time at the Gran Caribe Real. The hotel was very nice, beautiful beach, kids activities, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The quality of the food was good, though nothing to rave about, except for breakfast, which was wonderful. Some of us went to swim with the Dolphins and the Wet and Wild Waterpark next door and, though expensive, had a wonderful time.
Hyatt Zilara Cancun (Adults Only)
Review by Katherine, 3/18/2016
We didn’t end up going on any excursions (we were way too relaxed for that), but we did really enjoy it. We would recommend it, and we liked the food and the staff and the one million beach beds to lie on during the day.
We did also sneak down to the Hyatt Ziva for dinner and drinks one night. It was really lovely and the food was great there, too (we ate in the French restaurant). It was a great dinner, but the kids at the resort kind of killed our mojo so we scuttled back to the Zilara. We all have kids, and love them dearly, but we also love to travel without them sometimes. 🙂
Thanks so much for making everything great! We really appreciated the ease of the trip and the luxurious resort.

We had a great time! We did see the dolphins but did not swim with the dolphins. We loved having beach on both sides of the hotel that was accessible. We did take a day trip on the ferry to the island across the way. Would not recommend it unless just wanted to see the place hang at the beach but would not rent the go carts and drive around the island. The hotel itself was awesome. They had messed up our rooms and did not have them connected so they gave us an upgrade to make that work. That was awesome. I would highly recommend it and will attach some pictures for you. Thank you so much we will for sure call you again for the next trip!!

We had an awesome time. The best part was the incredible food. Every restaurant has very good food and we didn’t have to make reservations. At the two other all-inclusive’s that we have stayed at, reservations had to be made and sometimes there was no room. We did have to request to be moved last night as we had it really bad smell in our room. The hotel was very accommodating and moved us to a second-floor room. Overall it was a great experience. I would encourage people to take the hotel up on the free bike ride. It was a lot of fun.The weight room facilities were incredible. As long as someone is willing to pay the price, I would recommend this place without any reservations, (no pun intended)😆
Review by Gina, 6/20/2016
Yes we had a great time! We liked the Hyatt Ziva quite a bit, the facilities were awesome. Loved the size of the resort. Yes, we got the rooms requested though the employee at check-in mentioned that he got us connecting rooms and usually they charge extra for that. Nevertheless, they were connecting and nice rooms w/ a great location and oceanfront view near the beach by the bay area, where we spent a lot of time. It did not seem that crowded at all. I found myself wondering why the heck we had such a hard time getting rooms here, as it never seemed very busy at all. And if it was at capacity, then this is a great place to go. No trouble getting chairs at the beach or pools, and no trouble getting into restaurants.
The restaurants choices were good, nothing remarkable. They did an okay job with the gluten free requests, the Azul resort we were at over Spring Break spoiled them with gf pancakes and desserts, that was not the case here. They were accommodating but nothing special. All in all, the food was much like the Barcelo or other resorts like that. I’d probably give it a B.
Transfers were fine, though we did have to wait upon arrival, a little over 20 minutes for our transportation with Lomas. Usually, they whisk us away when we walk out there, but not this time.
Favorites… the candy/dessert shop for the kiddos. The sports bar, we watched a lot of soccer and basketball there. The beach bar with swings, fun bartenders!
We hung out on the bay side beach, the other side had the chairs back from the water, and it was a public beach with vendors and such. We found our favorite place on the bay side with the huts. Paddle boards and kayaks were free and used daily by the kids. You could walk way out in the water and be up to your waist or so. They did lack in the organized activities, which our kids will participate in. Maybe that happened more on the other side of the resort, but I don’t think so.
Really not much night life at all. I’m guessing a lot of people head out to the night spots that are within walking distance, but that’s beyond our comfort level. Only one night did they have an adult party with a Latin band and that was sparsely attended. They have a great rooftop venue to do some really cool things for adults, but it was empty (bar not even open) most nights. Like my older kids said, all they need is a speaker and some music (maybe a DJ) and open the bar, and it could be lots of fun.
Our youngest did some activities with the Kids Club and enjoyed those. But not much at all planned for the older kiddos.
We did an excellent waverunner excursion through the folks on property and right next door. It was a VIP waverunner tour through the “jungle.” We traveled quite a ways on them and then through a lagoon area that was pretty cool. It was really nice to walk next door and hop on a waverunner without the travel time. It was supposed to be an hour and a half, but ended up being 2 hours. We all enjoyed that. The dolphins on site were cool, fun to watch, though we did not opt to swim with them. The water looked dark and murky, not as appealing as other places we’ve seen. But people seems to enjoy their program.
We did pay $150 to check our bags through American, which Kim said we would be reimbursed for through Funjet. I will send a pic of our receipts in a separate e-mail to you. And I guess it was a blessing in disguise that we were booted off the charter, though we LOVED the direct flight out. If anyone ever questions Aero Mexico, tell them you had a family that was very skeptical and absolutely loved it. The plane was awesome, in seat monitors, free shows, seat-to-seat texting, USB chargers and they gave us sandwiches! The family was sooo impressed! Truly the best flight we’ve been on in a long time.
If you have any other questions, just let me know!
Thanks for all your help!

Not having to leave the property was very convenient. We had a blast at Xplor park. Everything went smoothly and we were truly able to enjoy our vacation and relax. When we decide where we want to go next, I will definitely reach out to you to help us plan it.

We really loved the resort!
We can’t say enough good things about the restaurant staff!! They were kind, happy and caring every time we dined and really cared that we were getting good service. And overall the food was great too.
We did a few excursions (snorkeling, horseback riding, Tulum Mayan ruins, Coco Bongo), and booked all through Sender, the Funjet Representative during our stay. He was awesome, and we really enjoyed all the excursions. We ventured out to the local markets one afternoon, and that was a lot of fun too.
Overall, we loved the resort and thought highly of its quality, and would definitely recommend it to others.
Thanks again for everything you and Kim did for our trip! We really appreciated it 🙂 …And can’t wait to book another vacation with you!

Hello Kim, Dave and Betsy,
Thank you for recommending the Hyatt Ziva in Cancun. From the moment we walked into the gorgeous open-air lobby and saw the breath-taking views of the Gulf of Mexico, I knew we picked a winner! I was hesitant about going back to Mexico, but this hotel and trip experience exceeded my expectations.
The hotel did everything they could to put us all on the same 11th floor, but unfortunately one party ended up on the 8th floor, not a big deal though. We thought the rooms were fabulous, comfy beds, huge walk-in shower and the ocean view was spectacular. It was heavenly sleeping every night with the door open. We never once turned on the TV or music so we could enjoy the ocean sound. It was lovely being in the Club Tower and having access to food or drink anytime you wanted. I personally loved Christina, our tower barista, who made us the best cappuccinos every morning. I would recommend Club Tower accommodations again!
Our pace slowed down immediately at this luxury resort and doing nothing but enjoying our surroundings was quite easy. There was beauty everywhere you turned, from the cool architectural features of this hotel, to the many specially designed infinity pools on different levels, all with the backdrop of the turquoise ocean…it was hard to take it all in! Here’s a few of the highlights from our trip:
– Late lunch and margaritas at Habanero’s restaurant (more than once)
– Morning pilates class, ocean front under the gazebo
– Chocolate Martini’s on the lobby steps watching the show
– Live music at the Brewery
– Snorkeling off the reef and swimming with sea turtles in the blue abyss
– Bartering at the nearby flea market
– Water aerobics after 2 mojitos
– Cocktails at the adult pool
– Swinging at Habanero’s with friends
– Early morning long walk on the beach
– Watching our husbands try to beat our sons in beach volleyball
– Sitting on our balcony and taking in the view
I’ve stayed at many places, including Hyatt’s all over the country, but can honestly say that no other hotel I’ve been to was so intent on making sure our experience was the best it could be. Every staff person was warm, kind and sincere in trying to please us. The entire hotel staff definitely embodied “spirit from the heart” as their mission statement reads. I was impressed every day and made to feel like I was the most important guest.
Thank you again for recommending this special place and we will spread the word to others about you and this trip!

Mark and I had a fabulous time at the Hyatt Ziva and would recommend it for anyone wanting a quiet, low-key vacation, especially families with young children. The resort was very laid back which is exactly what we wanted but our kids would have been bored with the lack of activity there so I don’t think I’d recommend it to the younger adult crowd looking for adventure and nightlife. Our room was very nice and located on the top floor as you requested. The staff was very courteous and accommodating and we never had to wait in line at the restaurants. It was so nice there that we never left the resort and were perfectly content to sit on the beach and soak up the sun. The only negative thing I can say about the resort is that the in-room beverages and snacks were very limited.
On arriving in Cancun it took about 45 minutes to get through customs. From there we went straight to the Lomas agent to arrange our transfer and waited at the curb for over an hour for them to finally get us a ride to the hotel. (We actually contemplated getting a taxi but decided against it since we’d already paid for the transfer.) They finally ended up getting a stretch limo to take us to the hotel but the driver didn’t say a word to us directly, nor did he offer us a Corona or even a bottle of water. Standing around waiting so long in the heat (coupled with an early start to our day) was tiring so we were glad to arrive at the resort in time for dinner. Fortunately, the transfer from the hotel to the airport on the day of our departure went off without a hitch.
All-in-all we had a great time and hated to come home. We’ll definitely be in touch with you again when we’re ready to take another trip!
PS: Here a few of our pictures that you’re welcome to post.
Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso
Review by Emily, 4/29/2016
Hello! We really enjoyed our time at Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso!
-The service from the staff was truly amazing! They were so friendly and wanted to make sure everything was just right.
-The view from our room was incredible. We were in building 71 and on the 2nd floor. Beautiful!
-We golfed several times while we were there. The course was very challenging and fun!
-Huge resort with so much to do, I’m sure we didn’t even get to much of it.
-Our only ‘slightly negative’ review would be the food…it was ‘average’. Breakfast/Lunch was the same each day. For dinner tt was difficult to get a reservation to the 4-5 restaurants so buffet was the only option some nights. We made the reservations the morning after we arrived and were only able to get into 4 of the restaurants and not until 9:00 at night. It worked for us but I would recommend trying to make reservations the minute you arrive. (We over heard other guests dealing with the same issue.)
Thank you for your great recommendation and for taking care of booking the room for us!! You will hear from us again!
Iberostar Paraiso Lindo
Review by Kellie, 10/23/2015
Best family trip! They definitely outshined Barcelo Maya!
All of our flights were great. Of course, Lomas Travel was there to greet us and always takes care of us. Love those guys!
So glad we upgraded! The ENTIRE staff at Lindo was amazing. Always smiling, high-fiving guests, just a great staff all around. Love that they have Concierges in each of the buildings. Of course the Royals played while we were there and they always had the game on in the Lobby Bar. They played the last night we were there and the Room Service staff left us a bed decoration of a 6-pack of Dos XX. It was a great gesture!
I emailed them 10 days before we left and asked for reservations. They promptly replied and gave us what we wanted for the first two nights.
Check in was a little long, but only because one of their resorts caught on fire and they had to move all the guests to their other resorts.
We liked the Hiroshu restaurant so much on the first night we booked it again for Thursday! The kids ate their weight in nachos, fries, and ice cream!
We never had a problem getting a beach or a pool chair.
We did go to Xplor for an excursion. The kids loved it. It was $522 for all four us and it is all inclusive. Love their juice bar. The picture package is $89 for up to 8 people. Well worth the price of not having to carry a camera.
Here are some pics. We were so busy just lounging, I didn’t take a lot this time.

Kim, Here are my thoughts: Beach: Amazing. Perfectly white sand and very wide. The water was great. Not too rough, and not like a pool either. We didn’t scuba, but lots of people were going on that excursion. I walked down to Senor Frogs two days (it’s about 30 minute walk each way,) and it’s a great, uninterrupted walk. Pools: Very nice. They have one fun, small party pool with a bar in it. It’s the only swim up bar. The big pool is very close to a poolside bar. If you haven’t been spoiled by the Sandals/Beaches swim ups, you would probably be fine. We are more than a little spoiled. Property: Very pretty. The wildlife (monkeys, peacocks, etc.) were really pretty amazing. We were in a beachfront room, which was perfect for us. The kids were more toward the middle, which was fine, but they could hear the monkeys early in the morning. It didn’t necessarily bother them, but if someone is a light sleeper, they are definitely going to want to be closer to the beach. Our rooms were fine. Nothing to go crazy over, but clean, everything you needed, etc. There is not an air conditioner vent in the bathrooms however, so that got a little toasty after two showers and one blow dry event! Food: The buffets were quite good (better than some all inclusives.) The biggest drawback is they are all open air, so in July at night, it was a pretty warm dining experience. We ate at the Mexican restaurant which was good, and also the steak restaurant that was really good. Nightlife: This is probably the biggest downside, if you are wanting a big nightlife. There is one bar in the lobby open at night. It is really nice, but again, open air, so in July, hot. There is also a big bar by the entertainment stage, but it was unbelievably hot, so we avoided that one. There is a disco that opens at 11, and it is air conditioned, and very, very fun. You just have to sweat it out until 11. We ended up getting drinks and sitting down by the beach each night before we headed to the disco the few nights that we went there. General: No one got sick, which was great. We each took a pro-biotic every day, and that seemed to do the trick. It’s a seven dollar cab ride to downtown Playa, so super easy to make that journey. Overall, we had an awesome time. The two boys who had never been to an all inclusive, thought it was amazing. Given the price point, it really was. I would recommend it for someone who wants a nice resort and perhaps isn’t going for a more active, on resort nightlife. You can’t go wrong with the food, beach, pools, etc. We will probably try something different next time, and it is primarily because of the night life. Thanks for getting it all set up for us!
La Blanc Spa Resort
Review by Laura & Nathan, 12/9/2015
Hi Dave and Kim,
I am so sorry for the late note, but I wanted to thank you both for all you did to make our honeymoon incredible!
Nathan and I had the most amazing time in Cancun at Leblanc and so appreciate all of your help to make it possible (we know the hurricane in the Bahamas through us all for a loop). Leblanc truly treated us like royalty and we were so happy with the experience.
Thank you again for planning an amazing honeymoon for us. We can’t wait to start planning our next adventure.
All the best,
Laura and Nathan
Live Aqua Cancun
Review by Ashley, 7/29/2014
Everything was great. It was the best resort we have been to, beating out several Sandals resorts. We didn’t do any excursions, we thought about it but for only a 5 day vacay we never found ourselves without something to entertain us with out having to leave the resort. We only left to walk around the outside mall that was directly across the street.
Review by Curtis and Brooke, 7/30/2014
Kim, We had a great time. The resort was just what we needed to relax. Not one of those hustle bustle places. We walked in and with the aroma therapy it was immediately welcoming and calming. The resort didn’t seem to be busy so there was plenty of space for yourself and also fun times to have with a big group. This resort had many different things that you could plan on doing everyday or we weren’t there long enough to enjoy it all. We tried to eat at all the restaurants or where ever they served food and didn’t get to them all. With the variety of food it was nice to pick and choose and try new things. The first day we were introduced to a sales woman that talked to us about the “Membership” that you could join to be able to vacation at any of the resorts or hotels available. We did listen the next day for about 90 minutes and received a free couples massage, so that was a perk if you are willing to listen and deal with a sales person for short bit. The location of this hotel was great as you could walk across the street to a mall or even walk 5 minutes away to another mall to shop. You could easily get on the local bus for less than a dollar that would take you pretty far along many areas in the event you went on an excursion or wanted to see more of the strip of resorts. Our room was on the 1st floor and because of the bushes and landscaping we didn’t have much of a view so that was a little disappointing however we didn’t do much in the room since we had a big group someone was always doing something. We did get a nice display on our bed, warm bath, candles in the room, and a bottle of Champagne and strawberries for our anniversary and wanted to tell you Thank you if you had something to do with that.(I know my sister Kim had something to do with it to) We did not go on any excursions but did go parasailing right by the hotel. It was fun. As far as the travel goes I think it went pretty smoothly. It was nice to have people waiting for you to be picked up in Cancun and taken to the resort and we weren’t bothered too much. I would suggest that depending on how long guests stay to try and not pack more than you need and if you can fit it into carry-on’s that will save you time going through security and checking bags but that can vary to each person. We would definitely like to go back someday!! Thanks again

The trip was great! We didn’t go on any excursions but we did a couples massage at the resort that was wonderful! The food was amazing! I have no complaints. The only thing I would change would be to stay longer! Thanks so much for your help with arranging a trip. We are already talking about going back to the same place in three years

Hi Kim, Live Aqua was great. Everybody on the trip really liked the resort. We would definitely recommend this resort to anybody else interested in going to Cancun. We actually didn’t go on any excursions, but when meeting with the Apple Vacations rep at the resort, it looked like there were some good ones available to us. Thanks again for putting this trip together for our group.
Review by Julie, 1/4/2016
So much for all to do there! We did golf, massage, dolphins, & snorkeling/boat trip to Isla Mujeres. We weren’t ever able to get dinner reservations, but managed to all eat together more or less at a variety of places each night by putting names in shortly after they opened the doors for dinner. We could not get adjoining rooms, and they initially had us in separate buildings but found a way to get us 2 rooms a few doors down from each when I asked nicely. Our rooms were in Nizuc perfect for parents & nearby lobby except for 2 rooms with our 20 something’s cousins in sunrise bc garden view. They liked that and lived the swing bar late night…So it was just fine! My parents just loved it and enjoyed meeting everyone in lobby bar every night for happy hour as if “they” were hosting at their house:) there was a lot of seaweed & water was tinted brown unfortunately, but mine don’t really swim in the ocean at their ages like when they were little & loved the sand volleyball! Pools were great! I felt bad for Kathy and boys getting rerouted to take off from KC instead of Wichita! But glad it all worked out….

Attached are some photos. One is a group pic on the beach, the other is my husband, Rex, catching a barracuda when we chartered a boat, the next is a view of the pool/beach area and the other is what we had in our room when we got there.
The favorite thing…ROYAL SERVICE! I highly recommend this for couples. The butler and cabana service was outstanding and you didn’t want for anything. Amazing! We tipped well (even though it wasn’t required) and it made all the difference in the world. Our butler made us reservations at most of the restaurants so we got a great variety and everything was really good. Buffet was changed up every day so it wasn’t boring. The only downside to the food is they don’t salt ANYTHING haha. But ask for salt and you get salt. J
The hotel was very nice and modern. The only downside was the nightlife. Not much going on but one bar. They had some sort of act each night which we enjoyed but it lasted maybe an hour. But we found we were all exhausted from sun and alcohol all day that we didn’t stay up too late anyway. We did go into town and experienced the flea market (Market 28). I wouldn’t recommend. They are very pushy there and you can get the same stuff at the resort shops. We went on one excursion which was chartering a private boat for the 6 of us. We went snorkeling and did the jungle tour and visited the island (Isla Mujeres) and shopped a bit. The boys went fishing while the girls were dropped off at the North Beach on the island. Water was calm and amazing there! Pretty much we could do whatever we wanted in the 6-hour timeframe.
All in all it was a fantastic time and we talked about coming back to the same resort in the near future J I guess they are shutting down the tower we were in soon (September maybe?) and remodeling the rooms. We may have to book another trip there when they are done. We will surely keep you all in mind when we need a travel agent. Thanks again for all of your help!

Thanks for the email. Everyone had an excellent vacation. We loved the resort and the restaurants. The beach was our favorite. The water was beautiful and the beach was clean and smooth. We rented a private boat through Lomas Transportation. 10 of us went snorkeling. It was reasonably priced and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Here is a couple pictures. Thanks for the follow up and we will definitely use you for our future vacations. We are thankful to have found your agency and appreciate how easy you made planning this trip for us.

Everything went great! The flights were easy and quick, our transportation from the airport to the hotel was easy and they were all very friendly. The hotel was gorgeous and our rooms were very close. We were on different floors but we were both by the stairs so it was easy to get to each other. The rooms were great even though we didn’t have the ocean view, we weren’t in the rooms unless we were getting ready or sleeping so we didn’t mind it. We didn’t do any excursions but we had a blast doing games and contests by the pool and the beach.
Thank you for all of your help, we will definitely be reaching out to you for another vacation!
Review by Jessica, 3/26/2016
The suite was incredible!! We got lucky and had one that was right on the ocean (view attached). The main benefit of the Diamond Club is that you get to make reservations for dinner which is HUGE. We had a little hiccup at check-in so to compensate for the inconvenience, they allowed us the reservation privilege. I would 100% recommend Diamond club for that reason alone. The dinner lines are long and I can imagine very frustrating with no reservation. Every restaurant was incredible. I’m not a food person so for me to be impressed is saying something.
The ice cream shop was a huge hit with our kids and the nightlife was absolutely hopping. Cris and I would have loved to experience more of that for sure!
They had so many activities for the kids. We went to a bubble balloon DJ party on the beach yesterday- they had bounce houses and a mechanical bull.. over the top amazing fun. I peeked over at the adults only side and it looked amazing. Although the resort is huge, it doesn’t feel overwhelming at all. The buffet was absolutely insane. And the pool waiters were there before you could even finish your drinks. Constant service. I had a massage and it was superb. We thought the beach was fantastic. I could get carpel tunnel explaining all the amazingness of this place. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions if you’re planning to send someone there- I can’t recommend it enough!!
Thanks again for being awesome and helping us make these memories so special!
Review by Katie, 8/5/2016
Thank you so much! It was such a great trip, we already want to go back!
The Preferred Club was nice, there was a private bar area and restaurant we could go to. We did have a little issue with having to wait almost 5 hours to get checked in. The Oceanview Suite I don’t think I would pay for again, it was just really a view of the pool with the ocean peaking in the background.
We got a beverage right off the plane so we didn’t need to stop by the transportation was great!
We went to Chichen Itaza and Xel-ha. Both were really nice! The tour guides were great and we really enjoyed the actual site seeing. Xel-ha was amazing!!!
We would recommend the resort for a honeymoon. It was very relaxing!! The rooms were so nice and all the food was amazing. We tried every restaurant they had to offer and never had a bad meal. Steve is allergic to Shellfish and they were so accommodating with his food and very careful. We don’t regret our choice at all!
Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera
Review by Sharon 1/23/2015
Hi Kim. Thanks for lining up everything for us in Riviera Cancun. We had a great time, as we always do. This is how our family would rate it:
Pools/grounds – 9 (the water temp. of pool was nice)
Beach – 4 (high winds brought in a LOT of yucky seaweed, making it difficult to enjoy a walk along the beach)
Excursions – N/A (we didn’t do any excursions off site)
Food – 6 to maybe a 7
Rooms – 8
I hope that this helps you out. Obviously, my scale rating was with a 10 being the highest
Thanks & have a great weekend

My wife and I had an AMAZING time at Secrets Maroma! The flight connections, and transportation to and from the resort were flawless, and the resort was beautiful. We appreciate everything you did, especially with the hiccups from the hurricane in Cabo, to make this trip so great. We were treated like royalty at the resort. Our representative from Apple Vacations at the resort was very helpful as well. We booked a snorkeling tour through the resort called “Morning Glory.” It was very affordable, and gave us the chance to see the beautiful reef just off the coast. I would definitely recommend that tour, and booking vacations through Love to Travel in the future.
Thank you again for all your help

Hi Kim! It was phenomenal!! Secrets was a great place. The service was great and the environment was phenomenal. Very laid back place with a great beach. We went on a kayak tour that was free at the resort and a good time. In terms of excursions we went on a “swamp/river tour” that had snorkeling at the end. They gave us little boats to drive and we followed the tour guide through an area that wasn’t exactly what we would call a swamp, so that was a little disappointing. However driving the little speed boats ad snorkeling was a blast! Overall, I though that the travel and the resort and everything that you guys did was top notch! Thanks so much

We just got back from our trip, and similar to last year, Secret Playa Mujeres was amazing. We all commented that we noticed a little difference from Secrets Puerto Los Cabos, but amazing none the less. We loved it. Thank you.
Thanks again for all your help with another great vacation. I’ve attached a couple group pictures of our vacation…one was at the piano bar on the resort where we met for a pre-dinner cocktail and the other is on our excursion to Isla Mujeres.
Review by Lissa, 3/18/2016
We had a very nice time at the resort. It was very well maintained, the staff was super friendly, lots of choices for food etc…. It was pretty “couply” for 2 friends traveling together but didn’t bother us too much.
I went on a bike ride that the resort organized and we went to water aerobics and used the gym. The spa was really nice. Every service came with as much time as you wanted in the steam room, sauna, whirlpool and larger pool. The massage was great!
We took the ferry to isla mujeres on our own. We rented a golf cart and just explored the island.
We would not do the swim out room again. It didn’t connect to the larger pool and was freezing.
Here’s a few pictures. Thanks for arranging.

We went to CocoBongo one night. It was so fun and an amazing show. We went to isle Morales one day. It was beautiful.

Thank for following up. I have been meaning to write to you. We had an outstanding trip. We were pleased with the flight, transport to the resort, rooms, food and drink. We actually didn’t take any excursions, but we did enjoy a massage at the spa, which was excellent.
If there are ever any specials on a similar package, I would be interested. Thank you for your help in planning a great vacation!
Review by Shelly 2/5/2015
Secrets is amazing and I would highly recommend it! We were able to switch our first nights room from now to secrets for $80 which was great. The only hang up we had was our flight was delayed 5+ hours and Apple would only provide transportation at a set time that would have had us sitting at the airport for 4+ hours, so we had to pay for a cab. The resort was perfect!
Temptation Resort Spa
Review by Joe, 8/6/2014
Kim, my wife and I LOVED our trip. It was our second time at Temptation so we knew what to expect and we had an amazing time. Having those non-stop flights were great so we didn’t waste any unnecessary vacation time sitting in an airport. We didn’t have any problems getting through the immigration/customs line once we arrived and the Lomas people were right outside the airport waiting. We approached them and they crossed us off the list and loaded us into a van. 20 minutes later, we were at the resort. We arrived slightly before noon and check-in wasn’t until 2 but we had our books and swimming suits in our luggage so we changed in a bathroom and sat on the beach until we were able to check in. The rest of the vacation was great! We didn’t take part in any of the excursions or off-site events as we just wanted to sit on the beach and relax. We didn’t have any problems with the room or food, everything went very smoothly. We were able to check out without any problems and the Lomas staff arrived when they said they would and took us straight to the airport. Again, thank you for your help in setting all of this up for us. We are already considering plans to make it back next year. In talking with friends and family, we have strongly recommended you and your agency. Please let me know if you need anything else and I have a feeling we’ll be reaching out to you again before next summer comes around!

Food and service were fantastic! It was such a relaxing and enjoyable vacation and we timed it perfectly since we missed all the ice in Kansas City:)
Appreciate your assistance in making this a great vacation. Keep us posted of some great deals that come up in the future for other destinations. I think in early fall we will be taking grandkids to Disney World and not sure if you are notified of any package deals there or not?

I sent a picture from my phone-hopefully you received it. The service and the people at The Royal were just as beautiful as the facility itself. There was one precious concierge who was so helpful. We enjoyed the 24 hour service and just chilling out. We especially enjoyed the extra attention we got on our anniversary and Steve’s birthday. They beautified our room in such a delightful and creative manner. Unfortunately, we did not go on any excursions as Steve (who already has bad knees to begin with) hurt them significantly when he tried to play beach volleyball. We were scheduled to go to Tulum but Steve was having trouble bearing weight and then I decided I did not want to walk around in the hot sun for 2 hours so we took a taxi back to the resort.
We saw our names printed on a sign when we approached lomas and indeed they had 2 beers and a snack bag awaiting us.
I feel you all did an excellent job coordinating all the details and would be happy to recommend your services. Thank you for helping to create a special time for us.
Review by JoAnna, 8/31/2015
Hi! I originally saw your email come through and then forgot to get back to it until I received your voicemail today. Thank you for the reminder!
Thank you for everything you did for us. We really appreciated it all. We will definitely book through you in the future and are already looking forward to our next vacation.
We absolutely loved The Royal. We received wonderful service the entire time. We loved the food, our favorite restaurant was Maria Marie. Our favorite thing about the resort was the complete service – and especially the fact that we didn’t have to worry about anything at all, as you guys had already taken care of us. (I also loved the endless guacamole at the snack bar!) The pool was one of my favorites. The seaweed was thick and didn’t smell the best, so we didn’t spend much time at all by the beach. I LOVED Fifth Avenue! Paul had to take off his Royals hat though, it seemed to give the locals a good “in” to start conversation and make him check out their shops. Which was ok for me 🙂 We did go deep sea fishing – I would not recommend it! But that is only because I ended up getting sea sick after a couple hours. We really liked Maroma Beach where we went deep sea fishing, and think that if we go back, we’d just like to hang out there for a day and maybe go snorkeling or something more low-key :-). We also went to Xcaret. I don’t think we would recommend that. It was neat, but very crowded and lots of kids. Not that we dislike children by any means, we just got spoiled at the Royal being adults only. Your directions on how to find the Lomas representative helped us greatly, and we never experienced any hassle during our transfers.
Review by Kathryn, 8/18/2015
The Royal was beautiful. The check in was fast and simple. Our room was wonderful. We had a great pool view, as well as, an ocean view. We spent many hours out on our balcony in the hammock enjoying the sounds and views. The sports and entertainment team was our favorite part of the hotel. They are a wonderful group of people and keep the energy level up and make sure everyone is having a great time. They are also in charge of all of the hotel activities. We went of the bike tour with Jose and had a great time. The hotel offered a ton of activities. We spent most of our time at the pool relaxing. The restaurant we good. We like some better than others, but all of the food was good. The evening entertainment in the main lobby each evening was fantastic. We went to all of the shows and each night was a new fun experience.
We did not do any big excursions. We were really there to relax and enjoy some major down time :). Like I said before we did go do some of the hotel activities and they were fun. I would recommend the bike tour, wine tasting, and martini tasting. The pool area had Zumba and aerobics that were very entertaining and everyone was having a good time.
We did spend a morning walking on 5th avenue. The shops were great and it was nice to feel safe walking along the streets. On the bike tour we saw a lot more of 5th avenue and would have explored further if we would have known were to go. Next time!! 🙂
The traveling was a breeze. Customs in Cancun was very quick and we were to the hotel in no time. Lomus travel was so easy to work with and we loved the private transfer. Thank you so much for the recommendation!!!! The flights on the way home were good. Although I love the Charlotte airport the customs workers were not friendly at all and made the process stressful. We got through just fine, but they created a very unpleasant atmosphere. I will probably try to have a layover in a different airport if going through customs in the future.
You all were fantastic. Thank you for working with us on such short notice and letting us come in, in the evening to plan our honeymoon. We could not have asked for better service and we had an absolutely wonderful time at the hotel you recommended. We also really appreciated you answering all of our questions about tipping and checking in.
Review by Dylan, 8/10/2015
It was a fantastic trip. The Royal is highly recommended by us. The food is really great and the service is the same. We had our 2 favorite servers at Pelecano’s. It’s the restaurant closest to the end of the pool that looks out to the Caribbean. We kind of became friends with one and may even stay in touch. We also met some new people from Montreal that we may stay in touch with. They were a riot. An Italian couple living in French speaking Quebec, so we had a lot of fun with that.
· We did a lot of lounging at the pool and getting served, and we did tip well there and other places, although you don’t have to. Even though it’s an all-inclusive, it didn’t feel right not to, especially if you got great service from a particular person.
· We thought the rooms were very nice. We did have the nice ocean view as advertised. We heard one person complain it wasn’t that great of view, but we didn’t know what they were talking about. If we sat on the deck, you could stare at the Caribbean as long as you wanted, pretty unobstructed from our room anyway.
· As you surely know, if there was any disappointment with anything, it was the seaweed. It was truly amazing how it came in to the beach. We would have possibly spent a bit more time on the beach if it wasn’t for that, but maybe not. We don’t think it really hindered us at all. You just have to put up with it and know it’s just one of those phenomenon’s that likely won’t be this bad ever again. The beach is a bit short there at the Royal. One person told us they lost some in the last year due to storms. I don’t know if that’s correct, but they said the beach used to be deeper right where the Royal is. Again, I don’t think it bothered us. If you weren’t staying at a large, really nice resort and the beach was THE thing, then it would have been a bigger issue. Or, if you were say, like in Destin and you had a condo not on the beach, but went to it every day and it was full of seaweed, it would be a different story. Still, walking along the beach was just fine if you avoided walking in it. We got in the sea a few times.
· The girls got their picture taken with a Toucan!! At the Royal, there is a picture service that walks around the pool and asks if you want pictures with the animal they have that day. No obligation. You can go purchase them later. The prices really aren’t bad. One day they had 2 macaws, another day a large iguana, but the best was the Toucan since you don’t ever get that close to one of those. I nick-named him Fruit Loops.
· One thing you may mention to people, at least if staying at the Royal (other resorts may be the norm too) that the picture company can also take pictures of the family. We didn’t realize this. This is a good way to have a great Christmas card. They will take you to the beach or a dock looking over the water. Maybe we are just not in the know enough to have thought of that before going down. Same ones who take the pics with the animals. Prices are a bit higher than with the animals as it’s a scheduled thing, but the prices were really not as expensive as I would have thought.
· The shopping is, like you said, right out the door. A short walk (maybe less than one block) to 5th avenue, which is crazy and fun to see. Anything you want, literally. It’s shoulder to shoulder at times, but fun to see. If someone wanted to escape the resort restaurants, you certainly can as there are literally hundreds of restaurants on this street. It goes for miles.
· Lomas travel people were very nice for sure. The transfers were just us and not on a bus for a bunch of people. The Lomas reps in the Royal were also very up to date and informative. We booked the excursion through them at the Royal.
· Some people were saying that the shows at the Royal aren’t as good as some other places that have a more dedicated auditorium or place for them. At the Royal, they have them in the main round area after you enter the facility. We went to a couple. They were decent entertainment, but I didn’t go to the Royal for shows.
· We went on one excursion. We did the Telum/Xel-Ha trip. They were both very good I thought. It was pricey, but worth it. We got to Xel-Ha about 11:30 after going to Telum. I think you need a full day at Xel-Ha for sure. There are extras at Xel-Ha that can add to the price (certain activities that were not included in the base price). We did one of these. Xel-Ha, I thought, was very cool. I would go back there again for sure. It’s an eco-water park where a fresh water river meets the Caribbean. We snorkeled, went in a natural lazy river, the girls cliff jumped, and we did zip lines in the water. Telum was very interesting to see the Mayan culture. We spent about 2 hours or so there. It’s right on the beach, and you can actually swim in the sea there if you want. The other popular excursions seemed to be X-Caret, X-Plore and Chichen Itza. I heard great things about all of them.
I’ll send a pic after I download the camera.

Hello! We had a great time at The Royal in Playa del Carmen. The resort was very nice, clean and the rooms were fabulous!
We went on the Explor excursion that had zip-lining, swimming and rafting in underwater caves and driving all terrain vehicles. It was lots of fun. We did feel a bit rushed and wished our excursion would have picked us up earlier and got us there right when it opened, but overall would recommend. Our kids loved it.
On our own we took a ferry over to Cozumel for the day and went to Paradise Beach. It was great to be on a “pretty” beach free of seaweed! We kayaked, paddle boarded, snorkeled and played on tons of inflatables in the ocean. Fun place!
The rest of the days we spent on the resort at the pool. Our kids played sand and water volleyball all day long! They loved it!
We also enjoyed being so close to the shops and restaurants on 5th Avenue. We ate dinner at an Italian place one night and it was really good and the atmosphere was really neat!
Only downside was the seaweed/smell in the ocean, but they worked hard to try and keep it clean!

Our vacation was great! We loved the experience at The Royal! The food and hospitality was top notch! We did go one one excursion in which we did 2 different excursions back to back at the same location. We went to Maroma Beach were we rode the ATVs and then went over to the ocean and rode the wave runners . Great way to do 2 excursion with one trip from the resort. I would highly recommend both of these. Our guides were fun and each was a great time. I would definitely recommend it to others! We loved having the 5th avenue shopping right around the corner. It helped to add variety each night to be able to leave the resort and explore in a safe environment. there were street performers and lots of shops. Tons of tourists walking around. I would definitely go back to the Royal it is a fabulous place to vacation. Hope the feedback helps. Thank you again for everyones assistance in setting up our vacation, we loved The Royal!

It was awesome! Thanks so much for everything – I didn’t realize we had first class on the way home so that was a great surprise! We went to tulum and playa parasides and one more place but I can’t remember the name. It was all together thru Lomas travel. I was very happy with our hotel and food. Brooke did an awesome job! Thanks again and we will definitely recommend you to friends and family! Also, use you again!

We had a wonderful time. Room & resort were great. Food was excellent. We loved the beach, had a great beach. We thought the location was also very good.
The excursion to Coba & Tulum were wonderful. Coba is amazing. We didn’t get much time at Tulum & were kind of rushed through due to time spent at Coba. I would recommend though.
I will look for some pics to send you! My highlight was seeing a sea turtle on the beach for the first time!!
We will be planning another one soon. Saw an awesome resort, Rosewood Mayakoba, but it looked quite pricey. We cant wait to go back to Mexico.

We didn’t go on any excursions. We usually are a stay at the resort and relax kind of vacationers. This time we did upgrade to the swim out room and got couples massages one morning.
We spent quite a bit of time at the lazy river as we usually spend most of our time at the main pool with the swim up bars. It was the perfect relaxing honeymoon that was much needed after wedding planning.
I have attached a few pictures of us. It was Mexican Independence Day while we were there, so they had a big Viva Mexico party! That was fun!
I am excited to hopefully go back to Cancun in May for our friend’s wedding. I will be curious to compare that resort the the Valentin. It might be hard to beat the Valentin for us though, we really love the resort and the workers. I feel like they really go out of their way to make your vacation perfect. We love Gilberto, I am always surprised that he remembers us. I know we have been there 3 times now, but each stay was about 2 years apart. We love the Valentin because your vacation is what you make it. If you want to have drinks at the swim up bar all day, you can. If you want to spend all day on the beach, you can. If you want to nap on the chairs(with the iguanas) at the lazy river, you can do that too.

We had a wonderful trip to Mexico! Great weather. The five days we spent there flew by, enjoyed it immensely.
The VIM was everything all the reviews said it would be. The expansive grounds were immaculate. Wonderful pools, beautiful beach, lots of iguanas. So much space it never seemed crowded.
Our room looked exactly like the pictures posted on-line. Clean & comfortable. Third floor balcony, looking out over jungle & partial ocean view.
The food was good & plentiful. Having 24 hour room service was convenient as well.
Saw many comments by guests that they had returned there multiple times, now we understand why.
Lomas Travel private ground transportation was well worth the cost. Would definitely recommend them to others. Also booked our excursion through them, extremely helpful & courteous.
Went on a Tulum X-treme Over the Edge excursion. Included rappelling, zip-lining, snorkeling in underground cenote, lunch & tour of Tulum ruins. Outstanding! Driver/guide (Horatio) was excellent. Tour guide at Tulum (Rafael) was informative & entertaining. Well worth the price.
Flight down was good, return trip not so much. Next go-round need to allow more time to pass through Customs. Multiple international flights arrived the same time at Charlotte so left sitting on tarmac for half hour before unloading. 29 passengers missed the connecting flight to KCI, & it was last one to destination that evening. As Charlotte was expecting a severe ice storm next day, most flights were already cancelled so didn’t want to stay there. Caught flight to Dallas, spent rest of night in terminal. Got on second stand-by flight to KCI the next day. Wasn’t as bad as it could have been, could have happened on the way down. Only 14 hours late getting home & got our luggage delivered to our door later that evening. Trip ended on a bad note, but did not alter the fact that we had a great time while there. Experience will not keep us from traveling again, just taught us to allow more time for Customs & always carry toothbrush/paste in carry-on. 😁
Thank you for all of your help in planning/booking our first international trip. Things work out as we hope, thinking of Jamaica or Dominican Republic in 2017. Positively all-inclusive, must have king size bed, prefer adults only. We’ll be in contact when we get a better idea of the dates we can take off work.

The VIM was awesome!
First picture is obviously the “love birds” towel art & rose petals on the bed when we arrived in our room. Had seen multiple similar pics on-line prior to our trip but it made us feel special when we saw it in person & it had been done for us.
#2 is of some of the ruins at Tulum. We are not huge history buffs but still found this tour to be highly interesting. The beach below the fortress is simply breathtaking.
Last is the courtyard at the Valentin. One last look before we left… It still amazes us that even for a resort so large & busy that we never felt crowded at all. We could walk the many pathways & sometimes run into no one else at all. This is evident in the courtyard pic, as it looks deserted that morning. In the evenings, it could be total different thing!
Thanks again to all the Love to Travel staff for helping us plan our Mexico adventure,
Bill & Tammy

We absolutely loved the resort. The best part was the beach. We’ve been to many along the Playa coast and this beach is at the top of the list. It was wide with many cabanas available. Great swimming area as well. The pool was fabulous as well but we are essentially beach people. I can sit by a pool stateside. Everything else was great as well including food, service, entertainment, and etc. The first class seats on the plane were special as well.

It was amazing!!! No girls getaway though…10 year anniversary with the hubs 😉
Transportation went smooth and the Lomas people were very friendly. The Valentin was incredible and the staff there was also extremely friendly and eager to please. And fantastic food and drinks!!
We ended up doing a couple of excursions…scuba diving and swimming with the Dolphins. My husband loved the scuba but I panicked and chickened out 😕 The dolphin experience was AMAZING though!! It was so incredible I was in tears!
We also took a cab to Tulum, rented a couple bikes and rode to the Mayan Ruins. So cool!!
On our last morning there some baby sea turtles hatched and the hotel staff let us release them into the ocean. We were in absolute awe of this magical place.
The information you provided before the trip was extremely helpful and everything went perfectly. Thank you so much for planning this perfect vacation! We will definitely have you plan our next getaway.

We loved it!! Upgraded to an ocean-front suite and it was worth every penny!! No excursions for us- we love just hanging out and relaxing at the resort! No complaints!! We want to go back next year. Thanks!!

We had a fantastic time on our trip. All of us actually can’t wait to go on another one (possibly next fall). The flights, transfers, and hotel stay all went super smooth.
My only complaint was the lack of conditioner in the rooms (not a huge deal but my hair needed it after swimming). It was an all in one, shampoo & conditioner. We didn’t get the king beds, but they moved the double beds together for us.
Our group was close but I hoped we would be closer, which I know is out of your hands.
The resort was AMAZING! We didn’t see a lot of it because we stayed in the pool by our rooms or by the ocean.
Thank you for all your help in booking this vacation. We are seriously thinking about going somewhere again in 2015 and for sure in 2016 for our 20 year anniversary. The one in 2016 could have lots of people!

Hey Kim, Everything went great! The resort was so beautiful and the people working there was so courteous and polite. It was a wonderful experience. We did get a chance to take one excursion to the mayan ruins which was an all day event. Our guide was a lot of fun (I believe her name was eurie). With the excursion we got to zip line and repel and swim in a cenote along with getting a taste of may an cuisine. Never had a get away like it. Thanks for making our honeymoon an unforgettable one.
