Gentlemen’s Guide to Palace Resorts

Treated like Royalty at the Palace resorts! I just returned from my tour of all the Palace Resorts (Moon Palace, Sun Palace, Playacar Palace, Beach Palace, Cozumel Palace) and Le Blanc.

If you’ve been to a Palace resort, but it’s been a few years, you will see quite a change. They have really “turned the corner” on service and quality and provide luxurious accommodations, excellent dining options, activities and more.

Each Palace resort has it’s own feel. They all have multiple restaurants and bars (some more than others) 24 hour room service, lot of activities to choose from, nightly entertainment and much more!

If you want a large resort with tons of options including 27 holes of Jack Nicklaus golf, Moon Palace is a great choice…however the beach there has a lot of seaweed and not the typical crystal clear blue water you see in the Riviera Maya area.

If you are a scuba diver and want to focus on diving during your stay, Cozumel Palace would be a great option.

If you are looking for a great adults only beach resort Sun Palace or the ultra luxurious Le Blanc should be considered.

We are always asked which resort we like the best from the tours. This is a tough one because the Palace resorts are so different and it really depends on how you like to spend your time at a resort. That’s why using Love to Travel and our team of Beach Resort Destination Specialists is so important. We’ll visit with you about your preferences and match up some options that we feel would be perfect for your getaway.

Day one of my first official resort assignment with Love to Travel – touring the Palace Resorts in Mexico. First stop: Moon Palace. Located just 10 minutes south of the Cancun airport. I left Kansas City at noon and checked in at the resort at 4:00, gotta love that! This all-inclusive 4 Diamond AAA award winning resort has tons to offer!

Since I love playing golf, I thought I would devote this post to what it could be like to spend a day golfing here.

Woke up early without setting an alarm (excited for what the day would bring….always set the alarm and hit the snooze button 5 times with the old job)! Decided to use room service for breakfast (24 hour room service is included). No “continental breakfast only” here…omelettes, french toast, pancakes and more! I tried to order a somewhat healthy breakfast.

After breakfast I caught the shuttle (5 minute ride) to the Moon Golf and Spa complex. Here they feature 27 holes of golf designed by Jack Nicklaus. The courses, Pro Shop and entire complex are really awesome. After warming up at the driving range, it’s time to hit the course

Food and beverages are provided on the course and at the facility and are all included at no extra charge! Yes, you can drink a beverage every hole if you would like!

After an amazing round of golf, you can then head back to the clubhouse and relax in the sports bar/restaurant. Order anything you want – it’s all included!

There’s a also a great infinity pool at the club house so you can change into your suit and watch the golfers tee off on hole number 1 sipping on a beer, mango margarita, or whatever your favorite beverage might be and guess what – it’s all included!
